We did the Baltic Cruise leaving and returning to Amsterdam. The ship was very nice and our veranda room was great. Unfortunately it was unseasonably cold so we didn't actually use the veranda much but the views were nice and it made the room seem much more spacious. We had an awesome cabin steward, Koleman, who was exceptional. We had the GO BEST package, which included wifi (worked well), premium drinks package and gratituties. However, Koleman did such a great job that we tipped him extra. We also had a couples massage on the 2nd day, which was wonderful. Unfortunately we got sick about day five until the end of the cruise. I was running a fairly high fever and had to go to the clinic, where they overcharged me outrageously. We had the trip insurance but I haven't pursued it yet and am not optimistic based on what I have heard. My husband got sick with the same a day after me. We are big readers and enjoyed the library and also liked the hideaway for tea in the morning. Being sick, we didn't get to experience much of the onboard fun. We did get to The Italian specialty resturant twice, which was outstanding. The French was also nice. The 14th floor buffet was nothing to write home about and the dining room was average, at best, but to be expected with so many to feed. Going thru immigration in St Petersburg was a hassle but our tour was exceptional. Because of illness we missed the 2nd day in St Petersburg and The Hermitage (bummer) and Helsinki. We did TJ Travel for the 5 Baltic Capitals and they did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend them. We really prefer the River Cruises but for such a large ship Celebrity did a good job.
We loved our veranda cabin and the cabin steward, Koleman, did a wonderful job. He was always there if we needed anything. Even though it was too cold to use the veranda much it was great to have the bed next to it so that we always had awesome views and it made the cabin seem much more spacious. There was adequate storage in the cabin and bath and the shower was great. Since we were sick for much of the cruise I was very glad we had a nice cabin. It was a bit of a walk to the elevators (which was no big deal) but quiet and that was important to us. The bed was comfortable and I really liked the bed being next to the veranda in this cabin. Some of the others was reversed and the loveseat and desk were there but I loved opening the curtains in the morning and being able to lie in bed with spectacular views. Would definitely do this cabin again.
