In the past, I've traveled with RCI, and had always been pleased. Not so much this time. The ship is much in need of refurbishing. The common areas appeared tired and worn. The food was mediocre at best, and I felt that RCI had stopped including standard fare, for example, by charging $7.95 for room service, assessing very high prices on drinks (i.e., a glass of house Pinot Grigio was $11.70 with mandatory gratuity added), adding expensive "specialties" to the dining room menu (which our waiters were obligated to push at each meal) etc. I hadn't been to Nassau in several years, and found it an ugly place, in disrepair, and overrun with sleazy shops and overpriced jewelry stores. The bright spot on our cruise was definitely the staff. Our waiter and assistant waiter, the cruise director and our cabin attendant were all first rate. The staff is anxious to please and generally go out of their way to make passengers happy. Entertainment; so-so, but the comedian was very funny. All in all, would I recommend this cruise? Probably not. I think it might be in RCI's best interest to seriously look at some of these issues and roll back on the nickel and dime approach to increasing their revenues.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin I

Our outside stateroom had a love seat that was stained and threadbare. Our twin beds were hard as slate. In order to flush the toilets, we needed to fashion a tool to make the paper go down each time. There was only ONE outlet in the room, placed on the other end from the beds. Our plugs continuously fell out of the outlet, and we had to take turns charging our devices. There was no possibility of using my C-PAP machine! There was no regular outlet in the bathroom.

Nassau

Shuttle driver took us around town to merchants with whom the company had an obvious relationship. Didn't like that at all.
