We chose this cruise because of the ports of call. Unfortunately, due to weather and ship problems, we were not able to see the Azores or Belgium. VERY DISAPPOINTED. However, these things could not be controlled. Just part of cruising. We did make Brest, France and went on a NCL tour. I have to say that this was the MOST disorganized disembarkation I have ever been on (all cruise lines included). No order to anything. People were pushing as if they had to be the first in line. I like it when they seat you in specific areas and rows then you leave by row. Very calm and much easier for those with disabilities. The excursion in Brest was great; however, trying to get back on the ship was a disaster. When we arrived, a man came on board and took 10 minutes to tell us we could stand in line for 1+ hours or stay on bus to go "wherever" or get off and take the shuttle for shopping center. We opted to get off. More buses were pulling in and going down to the ramp - just to make people walk ALL THE WAY BACK to the end of the line. An NCL person (in my opinion) should have been there to let the ones with disabilities get off and have the bus take the others to the back of the line. Then some buses were letting everyone off at the back of the VERY LONG line just to finally have an NCL person get those with walkers and canes and make them walk ALL the way to the front of the line. Here again, in my opinion, NCL should have had a shuttle, golf cart or something to bring those people up. As far as the tide situation, come on, a captain KNOWS what the tide is going to do and he should have had his crew prepared to handle the situation. I have been cruising 2-3 times a year since 1995 and have NEVER experienced this type of problem. I did see some passengers get irate with the crew on the dock and was afraid it would get into a fist fight at one time. All this being said, I just hope that NCL learns from this and will be better prepared in the future. I hate that we missed Belgium but again that is part of cruising - HEY at least we were moving in the right direction and NOT stuck out in the middle of the ocean. Immigration in Southampton was a JOKE. Why did we have to stand in line just to have them look at our passport, stamp it and ask us how long we would be in their country - then make jokes with us. We opted to not go on our tour to Bath, which I am glad, as I heard after people stood in line forever it was eventually cancelled. Enjoyed our time on the ship. Rotterdam and Amsterdam were great. Glad we were able to do our tour there. Disembarkation in Copenhagen was a snap. They know how to do things there. All in all, we had a GREAT time. The only person I was disappointed in was the captain. He was suppose to do a "Q & A" after the Brest fiasco but only spoke for a minute (after being 10 minutes late) and then had one question presented to him of which his answer was "that was yesterday, I can't doing anything about that". Very unprofessional. I will continue to sail on NCL as well as other cruise lines. There are always bumps in the road and you have to learn to adjust to them. Thank you Connie and all the other Cruise Critic worker bees for helping make this a memorable cruise.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

We really enjoyed our room. Was roomy enough for the 2 of us and had a very large bathroom with 2 sinks and a large shower with multiple jets. Loved having our own coffee pot so we did not have to call room service or go hunting for coffee in the mornings. The balcony was very small but met our needs for this trip. If we had been on a warmer cruise, I would have been disappointed because you could barely sit and have leg room. No real relaxing on it. Had some noise up till about 11 pm but nothing that was unbearable.
