Anthem Of The Seas is a beautiful ship with plenty of choices to keep you busy. We were not thrilled sailing out of New Jersey as the first two days of our nine day cruise were chilly. We arrived at the pier at 10:40 and were on the ship and eating lunch by 11:00. The Windjammer was overcrowded and difficult to find a place to sit almost every time we attempted to eat there. The Grande restaurant was wonderful. Food was delicious and we had Omega as our waiter who really did a fantastic job taking care of our group of 10. Also enjoyed the Dog house in the Seaplex area. We had the Premium beverage package and all decided it was well worth the money. It was nice trying all the fun drinks as well as Lots of bottled water, iced caramel Lattes and the coca cola freestyle machines were great. This is the first time we had a balcony room and we really enjoyed it and will never book a cruise without the balcony again. So relaxing to sit out on the balcony and watch the sun come up with some coffee and Danish. The room itself was very nice. Clean, Plenty of room and very modern. Loved all the variety of entertainment. Especially liked We Will Rock You and the Spectra's Cabaret. Spent a lot of time in the music hall. Always had something going on in there with fun bands to entertain. All ten of us loved this cruise and would definitely go on Anthem of the Seas again without hesitation..

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D7

Cabin was modern and had plenty of storage space. The beds were a little firm but were fine. Loved the balcony. Chairs were adjustable and had a foot stool that pulled out.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Everything in this area is very expensive. Stayed at County Inn & Suites overnight pre cruise. The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. Walked next door to the Ruby Tuesday for dinner and would not recommend. The bill for a family of four was $90 for hamburgers and chicken tenders.

King's Wharf

We took the transportation that was offered at the pier to Horseshoe Bay. The beach is one of the most gorgeous beaches I have ever seen. They are known for pink sand. The bus ride to the beach was $7 pp each way, but the driver was so nice and stopped at a few other places we wanted to see along the way. Absolutely gorgeous island and my new favorite.

San Juan

Caught one of the busses right outside the pier. $20 pp showed us the New San Juan and the Old San Juan. I have always enjoyed Old San Juan... brick paved streets, pastel colored buildings, the El Moro fort and the ocean views. Ended in the shopping area of Old San Juan and walking the three block walk back to the ship.

St. Maarten

Our group of 10 booked a tour with Bernard's tours. Very informative and took us on the Dutch side and the French side. The bus we were in was kind of run down. Went to Maho beach and watched the jets take off overhead... fun experience. Ate at Rosemary's Seafood and Creole on the French side and would not recommend. Steak sandwich was barely edible it was so tough, They were out of quite a bit of menu items. Did not have chicken strips so ordered chicken nuggets and they gave you four...in an adult meal. I had the curry chicken and that was pretty good. The service was not very friendly at all.

Labadee

A few in our group did the Zipline and said it was a lot of fun. The buffet they had set up on the island was very crowded so decided to go back to the ship and eat at the Windjammer instead.
