Despite all the negativity about this cruise, we decided to go with an open mind and found it to be exactly what we were looking for - a floating hotel with easy access to islands. First time in Hawaii, we didn't want to hustle with planes taking us from one island to another. We had cruised before and found this to be in keeping with what we expect from cruises. Everything went smoothly from embarkation to the last detail. We were in Honolulu 5 days before getting on the ship at around 3PM. It was quick, efficient and we were greeted with many a smile. Our balcony cabin on deck 9 was small, but always kept in impeccable order by our steward, Hendry. We had 3 speciality meals and otherwise ate at the Liberty. We found it all to our liking. We did only one ship tours and since they are expensive and often crowded and require a great deal of patience with the slowness of the pace, we decided to rent our own cars and explore on our own. Shuttle busses are at the ports for the rental cars, the price was quite low, parking overnight was easy when the ship was in port for two days, and our GPS could handle all the unfamiliar roads even the Road to Hana. I have nothing negative to say about our ship experience. The staff was courteous and efficient. Hawaii is a beautiful place. We intend to return to paradise another time.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

Small but adequate. Balcony particularly nice because there was no cabin directly on our left. We had a better view than most.

Port Reviews

Honolulu

We stayed at the Waikiki Mariott for 4 nights previous to the cruise and rented a car and went to Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor and James Cambell National Wildlife Refuge

Maui

We rented a car, used the Shaka guide on our cell phone and had a wonderful experience on the road to Hana. It took the entire day. Ship stayed in port that day.
