This was my 12th cruise and only the second from a port outside of Florida. First, the sail away was amazing, we were lucky to have great weather. I continue to be amazed at negative reviews from time to time. Norwegian is a mainstream cruise line and I think they deliver excellent value and service that is at least as good as their direct competitors.

As an example, I will respond to a few complaints from a recent poster. The rooms have never been ready on any cruise I've been on upon boarding, we get on early to try and extend our time on the ship. People just left all those rooms a couple hours ago, I assume you'd like the room cleaned and fresh sheets. Your room steward works very hard and has many rooms to completely clean in a few hours. When I got off the ship, I was directed directly to an immigration officer, no line at all. As for a line getting off the ship, I bet they would pay you for a better way. 2,300 people are on the ship and most want to get right off. The food is average but I always found something I liked to eat and I really like the flexible dining options. Some people like the traditional same table seating and I do think that has great merit. Hard to imagine there might be some loud people on a ship leaving NYC! Join the fun next time. BTW their are ports in Brooklyn and Bayonne, NJ. I have come to the conclusion that people that complain about cruises fall into two categories. Some may be new to cruising and have very high expectation regarding luxury, there are other lines that can cater to that. I think most are just trying to justify an opportunity to go down to the service desk and steal the tips that make up a majority of the crews salaries.

Overall, I loved the ship! I'll list pros and cons. Read more
