Was excited to see this ship's layout compared to the Freedom which we have sailed many times. Surprised to see how worn the finishes are now. The weather in Florida was perfect on day we set sail, but it rained most of the week, on & off. Made reservations directly with RC booking - big mistake. They promised us a $100 on-board ship credit which we never saw. Also, using a travel agent will give you some insider information on which cabins to avoid. The RC reservation agent never mentioned the noise situation concerning our cabin & others on deck 14 due to nightly maintenance on pool deck above every night at 3 AM lasting hours. My husband is a heavy sleeper but he was even unable to sleep through the nightly torture. You'd wake up & fall asleep only to be awakened again with deck chairs & other loud noises from objects being pushed around incessantly. Our bathroom sink was full of water & unable to drain when the stopper mechanism broke. Almost simultaneously, the phone rang & Guest Services was calling to see how thinks were going on our cruise. She dispatched a maintenance member to our room in time for us to brush our teeth before going to dinner. We also found that the hair dryer provided would not plug into the power outlet due to the size of the plug vs. the positioning of the mirror over the plug. We had an exterior balcony Junior Suite which we intended to spend a lot of time in our cabin - during daytime, there was extreme noises from passenger traffic above. All in all our relaxing cruise vacation was anything but.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Cabin has a large Walk In closet, Bathroom is small only width of the tub. Tub is extra deep making getting into & out of shower difficult. No anti skid treads provided on tub basin making it a slip & fall hazard for guests. Water pressure was strong & water temperature was always instantly hot. Sink became problem when the stopper mechanism broke while trying to wash out some items. Interactive Television & programming is better than before. Reservations & other information is available and easily viewed as in a proper hotel. Less calls & phone messages from RC staff as in the past cruises. Bed comfortable & balcony furniture was upgraded from prior experiences.
