My husband and I chose this cruise as a celebration for some recent milestones and for a relaxing break. We're both in our 30s and don't have kids. We've been on several other cruises before.

Embarkation started out a bit rough as the previous week's cruisers did not want to leave! They did not clear the boat until about noon, which resulted in our embarkation being delayed and long lines in security and check-in. Once the boat was clear, the check-in process was fairly efficient. However, after arriving at the terminal about 11:30am we found ourselves standing in line for about 2 hours before getting checked in and boarding.

In general the staff on the ship were amazing! They were friendly, approachable, and seemed happy. This was particularly true of our room steward who really went out of his way to make sure we had a great vacation. He asked us from the beginning if we had any special requests, brought us an extra pillow, refilled our ice without our asking, and left awesome towel animals nightly. I've given a more detailed review of our cabin below, but while the room steward and room itself were great, the location turned out to be quite noisy early in the morning.

Mid-Ship Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin OB

The cabin itself was quite comfortable, and our room steward was exceptional, but the room location was a poor choice. We choose the mid ship lower level room to reduce any possible motion sickness, and for the most part the room was a good choice in that regard. However, the room seems to be located below some sort of crew prep room and this resulted in noise early in the morning that regularly woke us up. We could hear women walking in high heels, people dragging things across the floor, and some sort of motor. My husband is a light sleeper and we ended up taking frequent naps during the day due to the early morning ( starting at 2:30am!) noises. From the ship deck plans, we now think the room is located below the unlabeled room between Le Bistro/Teppanyaki and the Atrium Cafe. Maybe it's a galley? When booking we thought we were below the restaurants which we expected to be quiet after dinner hours.
