Traveled with children

This was our first time cruising RC, and only 2nd cruise overall (1st was Carnival, 10 yrs ago). We were overall pleased with the cruise, although we had some issues. Our group consisted of our family of 5; the 3 "children" are ages 12, 16 and 19, and did not participate much in the teen club.

Boarding/embarkation was an absolute nightmare; the computer was misbehaving, and so although I'd read here on CC not to arrive either too early or too late (we went around 12:30/12:45, based on tips here suggesting what time people would be let on board, rooms ready, Windjammer open, etc.) we were not on board until 2 hours later. One line led to another which led to another which led to an area of mass confusion....it was truly a nightmare. I'm amazed the ship still departed on time, honestly.

Once on board, though, things ran smoothly for the duration and overall we had a wonderful time. The positive will be the same things everyone else points out -- the ship was beautiful (despite a few tears in the carpet in places), the amenities we found to be more than sufficient -- the lines for slides, rock climbing, etc. were never so long that they were a deterrent, and the mini golf only got congested on the last hole, which we simply chose to skip and turn in our equipment rather than wait for the back-up to clear out.

Interior Stateroom

Cabin N

I"m not sure I picked the correct variety of "Interior Stateroom" but we had side-by-side (non-adjoining) rooms, one for 2 people and one for 3; the one for 3 was the sort with the pull down beds/pullman beds. The decor was nice, there's plenty of storage in the room; we were able to fully unpack (even our over-packed selves) in each room, there were plenty of hangers though we did double up pants/shirts on a single hanger (one pant & shirt per hanger) in order to accomodate all of us, but the shelves were plenty for everyone, drawers, etc. Neither room did we use all of the available storage, and both rooms felt comfortable and roomy enough, even at times when we would all 5 gather in one or the other. The shower is TINY -- one of the comedians summed it up with a joke about slipping in the shower and falling nowhere.....yep, that's about right. Otherwise though, sufficient rooms and if, like us, you prefer your money to go to things you'll see more of than sleeping at night....perfectly adequate and not claustrophobic feeling at all.
