Cabin: Neptune Deluxe Veranda Suite

This was my first cruise, so please know that I don't have much to compare it too. Although, I have traveled to various cities around the globe, and would consider myself a seasoned traveler (and foodie).

When we decided to finally see Alaska, we felt that a cruise was the way to go, and after much research (mostly on the Cruise Critic website) we decided to go with Holland America since the dining options and overall good reviews appealed to us.

The ship is stunning, very elegant, with lovely pieces of art scattered throughout the decks. Although our cruise was full, it never felt crowded, as there were many public spaces to relax in, and our cabin was incredibly comfortable.

Neptune Deluxe Veranda Suite

Cabin SA

Get this cabin. It is outstanding. So much room (we brought four full bags and STILL had 3 closets we didn't use!). Having two showers and two sinks was an absolute luxury, and it is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (Huge King Size Bed!).

The biggest benefit (besides the large veranda), is the access to the Neptune Lounge right across the hall. In just 4 steps you'll find yourself in the lounge, which is constantly being stocked with treats all day long. (Smoked Salmon, Cheese Plates, Imported Meats, Macaroons, etc).

It also has complimentary Juices (Cranberry, Water, Orange), a complete Hot Tea selection, and a very expensive Coffee Machine that grinds and creates Coffee Drinks (Latte, Espresso, Cappuccino, etc). They also offer an Honor Bar at 4 PM that allow you to Mix and Make your own cocktails (you are charged, but those drinks are really powerful!)

The lounge is very expansive, and will serve as your living room when not relaxing in your surprisingly large cabin, and having a concierge right across the hall is just awesome. Roms and Michael (our two concierges) were amazing and really made our cruise special.

The cabin also comes with binoculars, umbrella, bathrobes, and 24 in room dining from the Dining Room. The television is huge, and it even has a pull out couch. Plus, complimentary laundry service which is an absolute must on an Alaskan cruise as you are changing outfits every 8 hours or so (Fitness Clothes, Excursion Clothes, Gala Nights, etc).

Honestly, just a great cabin and well worth the upgrade price since you will be spending time in it!
