Decided on this med cruise to see places we had not been to before, flew to barcelona and joined the ship there as we had been to barcelona ,all went well with embarkation fairly smooth. Our deluxe balcony cabin was room 7036 deck 7 near to lift. First impression of the ship and cabin was wow amazing, plenty of hanging and storage space in the cabin but not very much in the shower room, our cases fitted under the bed. The longer the time on board though you notice it is looking a bit tired in places and our bathroom sink was very cracked, and corridor carpets could do with a shampoo. Cabin was made up every day and towels replaced when needed, just to make you aware as we were not that even on the ultimate beverage package you will be charged $11-90 if you use the 2 bottles of water that are in the fridge or on top of dressing table it is shown as mini bar.....disappointed not to have tea/coffee making in the cabin especially as when you get to windjammer you struggle to get a table and no mugs only paper cups as happened most mornings unfortunately we were mostly too late for breakfast in the dining room so had to use the windjammer, daytime the food is not the same standard as the dining room which we were very pleased with at dinner every night and special mention to como and nitin our waiters on table 221 thank you for excellent service. Some of the entertainment was good but repetertive and 2 of the theatre acts were of exceptional quality. We did not really join in activities trivia maybe once and not interested in calming colouring or napkin folding.

our biggest disappointment was the ports we had to tender twice and water taxi once, i was dreading it and day 2 was villafranc'e for nice i did go and the weather was sunny and i thought it would be fine but just before we got to the tender to return a squall blew up and it was very rough going back my worst nightmare , weather is out of our control i know and we had rain every day just about of the whole cruise. Anyway main point is that more information about the ports should be given before the cruise to make you aware of how far you are from the places you think you are going to visit and how long it takes to get there we didnt get to rome its miles away and venice we walked a very long way to get to the water taxi no shuttle and then that was about 25mins ride to st marks square, we did not go the second day and we never got all the way round pompeii because that was huge and hot. Think carefully if you have breathing difficulties and or problems with mobility as my partner has. We felt the cruise was more for older people even though we are in our 60s/70s . To top it all our taxi never turned up and caused a lot of stress as we were taken to the wrong terminal 1 and had a lot of rushing more walking and a shuttle bus to terminal 2 (it did not say on our tickets which terminal) and gate 53y is miles away. We sailed with royal caribbean round the caribbean in 2010 but think this will be our last one with royal caribbean sadly......
