Ship Facts: Monarch of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Monarch of the Seas Deck Plans
Monarch still needs help
Embarkation

Port Canaveral is great for parking and easy access to terminal. Even though there were many reps checking us in, it seemed like it took a while. We arrived about 1 p.m. for the 4:30 departure. It probably took us 25 minutes to board.

Cabin Size

We had an inside cabin on deck 2. My boss who was with me was blown away by how small the cabin was. Little closet space, but bathroom ok.

Specialty Dining

My boss wasn't happy with the Jade restaurant. No white linen table cloth like the Pinnacle grill on Holland America. Great service and price though.

Private Island

Coco Cay is a 10! Plenty of chairs and hammocks. Great service. Great Bartenders. Great activities...yeah...overpriced...but great.

Windjammer

The Windjammer staff was better this time than back in February. Guess my letter to the RC CEO and post here (under jaxcruiser 1961) helped. I did mention to one of the crew that it was great when someone came around with the cart to give refills for coffee, etc. She rolled her eyes.

Food

The food was better this time than back in Feb.

Service in the Main Restaurant

Incredible! Junior was a great waitor

Onboard Activities

Great. Lots of excitement and fun!

Lounges

Great Drinks and Great Service. Met some new friends.

In conclusion, the Monarch does have a way to go to improve service in the Windjammer. The price for the cruise was incredible. The ship was clean and the toilets didn't back up like they did back in Feb. Oh...the Crown and Anchor reception was a 10!
