As a teenager, I searched high and low for a review that appealed to me, a younger cruiser who is on the brink of adulthood. I could find none, and just settled for waiting until I got on my cruise. Well for all those in a situation like I was, this is for you. If you are not in such a situation, this is for you as well. My cruise departed from San Juan and was a 7 night cruise to the eastern Caribbean. Boarding the ship, I was aghast at how luxurious it seemed right off the bat. Exploring further left me confused and not knowing where I was, which seemed to be my problem for most of the cruise. I found that a majority of the ship's activities were inside, and the area for the pool was quite small with not a lot of space to soak up the sun, unless you went to the upper deck. The rooms, however, were nice and comfortable and were ideal for the amount of stuff I had for the time. The bathrooms were small, but what can you do. The dining rooms were fantastic and the wait staff is absolutely phenomenal. It is fancy eating, which I did not like, but there were other options as well such as the Windjammer Cafe, which is where I ate breakfast and lunch...highly recommended. The choices for dinner always appealed to mostly everyone, and had plenty of options, even a kids menu when I was in the mood for something simple. Our cruise director, Chris, really made the cruise worthwhile. He was fun and entertaining and kept the show going. Speaking of which, the shows were great too; a fun time to bond with whoever you are with. I highly recommend participating in whichever shows you can because I did the Quest, and let me tell you. What a great time!

As for ports, the docking and all aboard times were very reasonable, providing just enough time for the day on the island as well as to relax on board. Though I spent most of my time in my room sleeping, I enjoyed going to the Schooner Bar and listening to some live piano. The themed bars are fun to just chill out at and to enjoy. One thing I really loved was the Royal Promenade. Cafe Promenade more specifically. I always was in the mood for a slice or two of their pizza because something about it was just great. Being open 24 hours also was a plus. There were many desserts there, which were very tasty, as well as ice water and other beverages such as tea, coffee, and my favorite, hot cocoa. The teen club I was quite disappointed in since the age gap was too large; 12-17. Being the oldest there was not really fun and there wasn't access to the 18-20 club because under 18 is considered minors, which also came with a 1AM curfew. It was hard finding people since there was not really much time on the ship and since the ship is so big, everyone is really spread out, making places of interest not really crowded at all times. Activity wise, I recommend mini golf at night (open 24 hours) the rockwall during the day, and inline and ice skating when it is open. All of those were really fun and provided sort of an escape from the day. The only negative things I have to say about this cruise was how orderly and fancy it was, sort of like walking into someones house and not wanting to sit down because it's so nice. Also the ice cream machine was only open from noon - 6PM which was a major let down, coming from Carnival with ice cream 24 hours a day. All in all, I think the cruise was great, and had a fun time on it and off it.

Cabin Review

We had a 2 bed stateroom with a window. It was perfectly sized with a great view. The bathrooms were expected, but the closet space was great. There were even shelves and hangers to help organize. Also there were multiple drawers to use as well as cabinets. Loved having a tv.
