Carnival really does go all out to provide opportunity for varied, non stop entertainment and food. This was an identical itinerary to that which we took just two years prior for our honeymoon, though on a different, slightly smaller ship this time. All new entertainment, same great food and memorable experiences. We got into trivia this time and were determined to win a gold ship statue. Though we probably went to 15 trivias, we came close, but didn't win. The crew remembered us and our efforts and awarded us with a ship anyway haha. The cabin was typical of Carnival, clean and cozy with a slightly larger bathroom than that on the Splendor, a larger ship. The wait staff were exceptional! The third night there was a shrimp cocktail waiting for me in the dining room as they could tell I'd be ordering it nightly. Embarkation left something to be desired. It was raining in Long Beach and the line was especially long to get into the terminal. It's a good time to be miserable, hard to be unhappy no matter than circumstances when you are about to board a cruise ship. The nightly shows were spectacular, major upgrade from our previous cruise on Carnival, though those were fantastic as well. We are very good negotiators and super social, so we don't book excursions with the cruise, instead opting to set up our own upon arrival to the ports.

Cabin Review

Balcony (obstructed views)

We had an "obstructed view", but it was only obstructed in that we couldn't look straight down the side of the ship for there was a lifeboat, but had a perfectly open view to the ocean and coming back to the shore. Would LOVE to have this room again!

Port Reviews

Cabo San Lucas

We LOVE Cabo! We enjoyed wandering the streets finding tacos at the places the locals eat. Took a water taxi to Lover's Beach, a beautiful place to swim and explore the rocks.

Mazatlan

Mazatlan was added to the itinerary a few weeks before embarkation. The town had clearly undergone some changes to make it a safer place for American's to travel. We took a taxi tour of town and got more tacos. It's even a place we would consider owning a vacation home in.

Puerto Vallarta

The whole area is beautiful and safe, though you feel like you are in Calfornia with english movie theaters, all the restaurants we are used to at home, and even Costco. Last time here we went to Costco for fun, this time we went to Walmart. A drive through the jungle is fun and our absolute favorite place to eat is Margarita Grill. I get shrimp tacos and my wife gets enchiladas.
