I had heard so many great things about cruising with Royal and for the most part the staff was friendly & helpful....until one of our group injured themselves the last day on the ship. She fell on the deck near where the towel pick up desk is, the staff nearby did NOT know how to get a hold of medical, they moved her before medical arrived finally when they should not have, the doctor's bed side manners were atrocious. The nurse was wonderful. Was not a pleasant experience at all.

Early on in the cruise there was an incident at the teen dance club FUEL, a 12 or 13 year old girl pulled a pocket knife out to another group of teenagers! That was very concerning for me as my son was always socializing in that club or the Livingroom section for teens. How does a knife get through security? Also, noticed coming onto ship that the lady that was supposed to be watching the items go through the scan was on her cell phone and not paying attention to the scan screen. Another security officer there asked her if she was watching the screen and she then put her phone down. So perhaps that is how a knife got on. Scary as a mother though.

The food was great, our room attendant Claudius was wonderful. Guest services could have been more friendly in my opinion but I guess everyone has bad day's. The shows were good too. Comedian's hilarious.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

We had 4 people in the room, the couch is turned into a double bed every evening by the attendant. Although was quite tight with 4 in room, there were so many places to put your luggage and items. Room Attendant was awesome.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We walked a few streets back from the port and got a taxi tour for $20 per person, he took us to Orient beach and also the Airport where the planes fly in so close to the beach. A plane was coming in when we were there so that was interesting to see live.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We just stayed at a hotel night before cruise left, we stayed at the Hilton fort Lauderdale marina and it was pleasant. We ate at the Cheesecake factory and what a great meal and service!
