My husband and I went on the Western Carribean Cruise May 6 through May 13. This is the first time we had been on Carnival. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I can't say ENOUGH about the food......unbelievable. There is SO much food and it's wonderful. Best thing it's free!! We loved ALL of the food! We especially liked Guys Burgers, Pirate Pizza and the Blue Iguana Burrito place. There is a self serve soft ice cream station....open 24 hours! You can get a fresh made pizza at Pirate Pizza....24 hours! The breakfast at the Blue Iguana is fantastic. Room service is free! A lot of choices. The food buffets were also awesome. Also on top of all the buffets and restaurants, you have a set dining time for dinner in the Platinum restaurant. There you have your own servers. You can choose from a varity of appetizers, entrees and desserts. You can also order as much as you want. Remember this is also free. For example, my husband and I would order two or three appetizers (they're small), salads, an entree, maybe even two entrees a piece and then dessert. One of the activities we enjoyed was called Dive in Movies. They show two movies a night on a theatre size screen outside over the main pool on the Lido deck. You chill outside on the deck chair/loungers and enjoy the movie as your sailing. They have popcorn and blankets....again free! You'll want to bring a thermal cup for endless refills of coffee, tea, water, lemonade and ice tea. Otherwise the cups are small. Also, if you are a smoker....DO NOT BUY YOUR CIGARETTES before you go!! You can get smokes at the duty free shop on board for $30 a carton!!! We pay $9 a pack in MN so we were ecstatic ! Note: If you buy one carton or several cartons take them out of the carton and scatter them in your suitcases when you leave. You do not have to claim them on the custom form. The other thing I loved about this cruise was they gave you an itinerary everyday listing all the activities and believe me you will NEVER be bored. However, you don't have to do any of it if you don't want. I highly recommend this cruise line and this ship. We are taking our kids next time. GREAT MEMORIES!
