Being one of the first regularly scheduled cruises to Cuba, I thought Norwegian did a very good job. It was clear the Norwegian Sky recently underwent some upgrades...carpets and furniture in public areas and restaurants looked great. In fact, the promo photos on the electronic boards had not caught up with the new look. Now the cabins are small...no getting around that, but for a 4 night cruise, this was not an issue. The bed was comfortable and the cabin clean. Service throughout was very good and the staff were excellent...very friendly and accommodating. We ate in specialty restaurants every night and found the food good. We utilized the buffets at lunch and were pleased. We usually ate breakfast in the main dining room and had enjoyable breakfasts each time. My only complaint was with the coffee bar - Starbucks it is not and they do not even have decaf anything which was disappointing. Coffee in the restaurants was fine. The entertainment throughout was excellent. Cuba was very interesting. We went on several tours - on day 1 we went on Cuban Cigars, Rum & Art Tour. It was very worthwhile and gave a good overview of the city. That evening we went to the Tropicana Show. Definitely a must see. 2 nonstop hours of pure entertainment. Fabulous. On day 2, we toured Havana in a Classic Car. In our case, a 1948 Chevrolet. The tour wears good and hit areas not included on day 1 but also had some repeats. Our tour guide did not speak English, something many people experienced. This was a bit of a challenge, but it seems most people in Cuba do not speak English. Nonetheless, the tour was fun and worthwhile.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable cruise. Havana is definitely 3rd world. There are virtually no suitable restaurants. No shopping. I recommend getting around on an organized tour. Cab drivers speak Spanish and US currency and credit/debit cards not accepted - you need to convert money at the pier and the government takes about 10% for themselves. But Havana is worth seeing. The old cars are fun. But seeing a city physically decaying like it is is sad, but fascinating. I can only imagine what it must have been like in its glory days. The locals seem to be very welcoming.
Cabins are small. Bathrooms small. Very little closet space or storage. But for a 4 day cruise, not a problem. Housekeeping was good. The bed was comfortable. The Cabin was quiet.
