Freedom's first crossing

Sail Date: April 2017
Destination: Transatlantic
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
The ship allowed us to take a 14 day cruise, with 8 days at sea and visiting various ports in Portugal and Spain. I have worked on cruise ships as a musician and have also traveled on many cruise lines since then. The embarkation was a nightmare; first we were in the Platinum line which started off short, but shore help did nothing to help the flow of the line and people were cutting in from all angles. Then the computers went down. We took over an hour to check in.

Being its first time on the crossing for this ship, there were some issues with Port talks, Shore excursions and variety of food left a lot to be desired. On many shore excursions, the guide rushed through the ports and allowed no photo opportunities. The shore excursion desk only provided a 15% credit for our problems in Lisbon. The port talks were not up to par with other cruise lines.

Entertainment started off great; but only 2 production shows for a 14 day cruise. Many headliner acts started More out good, but the middle of the cruise, the acts fell short of excellent. The cabin was very nice and had a large balcony. The internet was the best I had seen on many lines. As far as the food goes, there were many items over cooked and there was no variety from night to night. We paid for Chops Grill and the steak was overcooked. Giovanni's however was great!!

I would have to try other lines before going RCCL again. Less

Cabin review: E26236 Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Room was very nice. Balcony was large and had 2 chairs with a table. Shower was extremely good. You had to ask for tissues and soaps. Was advised that nothing comes automatically.
