This has been our 20+ cruise with Royal and our second on an Oasis class ship. Our experience on the Allure of the Seas was positive, not so much on Harmony. The ship is beautiful, clean and for the most part you wouldn't know that there were 6000 passengers on board. Embarking and debarking were a snap. Royal has that one under control. The entertainment on board was basically below average. The Highline show at the Aqua Theater was top notch. Grease was boring and was questionable for children to watch. Columbus was really strange. The comedian had a few laughs. The ventriloquist was good. Lecturer astronaut, Clay Anderson, was both informative and entertaining. We went to 2 of his sessions. The TV channel section is very poor - no Fox news, so you are stuck with CNN - there should be a choice there. The movie channel had commercials in Spanish when we never picked Spanish. It's pretty bad when watching the camera from the bridge is the best entertainment on the tube!
We ate in the main dinning room (Silk) 4 nights and most of those times it was really difficult to pick something that sounded appetizing. One night my salmon was too dry to eat and on another night the chicken marsala was tasteless. The rack of lamb was good. They should enforce the dress code in their restaurants, or get rid of them altogether. We ate in the specialty restaurant, 150 Central Park and sitting at the table next to us was a woman with her beach cover up on and her male partner had shorts and flip flops on! Give me a break. Royal Caribbean needs to get back on track before it sinks to the lower standards of some of the other cruise lines.
Our balcony cabin was roomy with good storage, but because they decided to store extra bedding under our bed, we struggled to store our 3 pieces of luggage.
