We checked in at Gatwick and flew by Dreamliner to Barbados. We were taken directly (the hold luggage is taken directly to the ship) from the aircraft to the Ship, so no immigration or collecting baggage at the airport. Check in at the port was seamless and efficient.

We had an outside cabin on deck 3 which was spacious and comfortable with a large picture window. Only downside if any was there was no fridge, otherwise lovely.

The ship was brilliant. We prefer this freestyle type cruise and this was excellent value for money. I was slightly apprehensive after reading some reviews, however we experienced no problems whatsoever and indeed it exceeded our expectations. If you want formal, luxury type of cruise then maybe this isn’t for you although you’d have to pay a lot more on Cunard or other providers. We bought the drinks package which was well worth every penny. Good house wine and drinks whenever you wanted them. Prosecco flowed freely. The food in the buffet was our favourite. The quality and choice was amazing and we never failed to find something tasty to eat. There was a roast at lunch and dinner in addition to a speciality menu ie Greek, Turkish, Chinese etc, perfectly cooked and a choice of vegetables and salads. Soup was delicious and every day there was a traditional British pudding, including various sponges, spotted dick, fruit crumbles all served with lashings of custard as well as other deserts to choose from.
