We have just returned from a very enjoyable cruise. We stayed overnight in Rome and had a shuttle pick up arranged by a fellow C.C. Embarkation was easy, had lunch and went to cabin. The balcony had a window washing gantry obscuring the left hand corner.I had seen from the Cabin Sticky on the forums that the corresponding portside cabin had that problem so I asked my TA to contact Celebrity,I was told no problem so was disapponted when we boarded, we complained and guest relations gave us a comp to Murano, but I will be contacting Celebrity myself. Moaning over,we had a really good time,we ate in the MDR and found the food good with a lot of choice and fortunately hot maybe we were lucky.Another moan coming on! the tables for 2 are too close to each other, they are in effect tables for 4 and that is not what you want if you request a table for 2.Our assigned table 100 was in a poor position [in our opinion, the other couple sharing the 2/4 top table liked it they thought it quiet,We did not like being in the corner of the MDR facing a laundry cupboard and next to a workstation] Luckily our table was changed to 210 a much nicer position nearer the centre of the dining room. I think I've stopped moaning again,we ate in the Murano really good and The Tuscan Grill O.K. Cafe on 5 very good. Oceanview was good too we had no problems and enjoyed the choice. We went to some shows in the Solstice Theatre and enjoyed the singers, musicians and the Ghostlight show. The Solstice show which most people raved over sent us to sleep. We had cocktails in the Martini bar but our favourite venue was Michaels Club nice and quiet with a pianist/singer. We went to a few quizzes and my husband played table tennis. We watched the Hot Glass Show and played Bocce on the Lawn. The pool area was crowded and cramped we preferred the Solarium area. Ports Santorini:We got up early and queued for tender tickets and was on the first tender. We did not have to wait long for a cable car and found the bus station and got the bus to Oia. Mykonos:Took the ship shuttle and walked around the shops. Istanbul:Took the tram and saw the sights independently, very easy. Kusadasi:Went on a private tour booked by a fellow cc and went to Ephesus including the Terrace Houses and Mary's House.Really good. Rhodes:Walked around the Old Town, we have been to Rhodes a few times before. Athens:Took a ship tour to Corinth as we have been to Athens before the canal was interesting but tour overpriced and we did not like the enforced shopping stops. Messina:Another tour with our cc'ers we did the Godfather tour, good fun Naples:Took the bus to the station train to Pompeii then Sorrento back by Hydrofoil to port. We were really sad to leave the ship had an early disembarktion as our shuttle took us back to the airport at 6.30 am.We carried our ow luggage off, simple. We left our luggage at the airport and took the train to Rome for another look around.caught our plane in the evening.

We had a great holiday the highs outweighed the lows and we would like to thank everyone at Cruise Critics for the invaluable help given to us when planning the trip and especially to those that arranged shuttles and trips.
