First of all, the port of Baltimore was awesome. easy and uncrowded. We did have a late arrival though so maybe we missed crowds but getting off was a breeze thru customs. We used Orlando before and this was a HUGE difference for the positive.

Now about the Pride. My reason for three stars and not less, is because my children had a good vacation, which was my priority. This was their first cruise so they have nothing to compare it to. Also they are young. They had a good time. My husband and I have sailed two other times only on carnival and found this a huge disappointment especially in the food category. NOT the quality, as this is subjective. I am talking about AVAILABILITY! We always have heard you gain ten pounds on a cruise. This time we decided to say we will lose ten pounds! We were amazed at the food times! We always remembered in prior years food was everywhere at all times. Not sure if this has gone down hill all around over the years or if it was the pride, but we were always hungry. The breakfast was best but very crowded (because it's best) and available pretty late. However, Lunch was "get it fast" or they'll take it away! EVEN while standing there serving yourself in the buffet sections, they LITERALLY TOOK tongs from my hands and pulled food OFF the trays as I took it with my fingers! 2:30 its GONE AND DONE no matter what! then you're left with greasy burnt pizza if you want to wait in a long line with just one guy making it. Or ice cream. You CAN get guys burger until SIX. but we personally didn't care for it very wet and mushy. Dinner buffet was never good (to us) and again, short lived. Best dinner would be in the Normandie restaurant.

My next complaint is the room. it was cramped and dirty and our sheets had pee stains on them. The bathroom was super small but I guess this is to be expected in a standard balcony room.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

make sure you have water shoes the sand is full of sticks and sharp shells. pretty water of course but just ok beach.

Half Moon Cay

our fave port. the weather was great and water was calm. kids enjoyed how far out it was shallow. my reason for not rating 5 was there was no renting of umbrellas or cover of any kind. my children are very fair and need coverage. at grand turk we were able to rent umbrellas and this addition here would make half moon cay perfect.

Baltimore

best cruise port we ever sailed out of. easy and uncrowded compared to others we used. would love to come out of baltimore again but NOT the pride so need more choices
