We chose Oasis of the Seas for our family vacation due to the numerous onboard amenities and it didn't disappoint. We traveled with our three boys (9,10,11). They enjoyed the basketball court, Flowrider, Ziplining, and pools. There were plenty of food options and the staff and service was the best I've had. If you are even a casual drinker, I would recommend buying the Deluxe drink package. After even a few poolside drinks, it pays for itself. We attended the Aquatheater, Comedy (Stand-up), Headliner, acrobatic shows. All were fantastic. The Boardwalk and Central Park "neighborhoods were a very unique and pleasant experience.
The ports of call were very nice. Our first stop was Nassau, Bahamas. This was our least favorite due to the "city" feel and not alot of Caribbean ambiance. In St Thomas, we taxied to Meghans Bay. The taxi was $10 per person each way, but definitely worth it. The calm waters and fantastic beach were worth every penny. There is also a beachside restaurant and servers on the beach (although the prices are a bit steep $12 cheeseburger $8 drinks). In St. Maarten, we taxied to Le Galion a beach on the French side. This was recommended by the taxi service. The beach was very nice with clear shallows waters out several hundred feet from shore. The beach was not busy (which was great) and also had a small beachside restaurant and bar.
The taxi driver was fantastic and gave us St. Maartens history while driving to the beach (approximately 20 min). .I would highly recommend this cruise and ship.
Our cabin, while small as expected, fit all 5 of us comfortably. One king bed, two twins, and a pullman (twin bed pulled down from ceiling. The stateroom attendant put our room back together (securing the pullman in the ceiling and the twins in the couch) each day so we had ample room during the day. Each evening he again "prepared" our room. We had to make no efforts at all to complete the accommodations.
Embarkation was easy as we arrived early
Walked to Junkaroo Beach. Nice shops. Felt a little too "city"
Taxi ($10 per person) to Meghans Bay. One of the nicest beaches in the world. Calm waters, fantastic views. Beachside Restaurant was a bit pricey. Servers walked the beach for drinks etc.
Taxi to Le Galion beach on the french side. Quiet beach, but great for the kids and adults. Warm shallow waters out a couple hundred feet from shore. A couple of floating docks for the kids to swim to and enjoy. Small beachside food and drinks available.
