Chose this cruise because it went through parts of central western Europe we had not visited. Viking has one of the highest ratings and concentrates on giving the passengers wonderful information on each port before arriving. The ship was beautiful and kept exceptionally clean and immaculate. We particularly enjoyed our departure city of Budapest and all the tours offered by Viking, as well as the beautiful 5 star Hilton hotel. After each port we felt we had a real understanding of the people and history of the area.

Dining was perfect with good dishes representing each area. Or if one did not like a dish he/she could always fall back on salmon- how wonderful is that?!

Most of the passengers were very friendly and interested in seeing the various ports of call, and one night we ask!ed one another how did you hear about Viking? Of course it was from the History Channel on TV! (For most first time passengers)

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin B

Very beautiful, and exceptionally cleaned and maintained. The bed pillows however needed to be replaced and the crew didn't have anything much better. Otherwise somewhat small and we would have enjoyed 2 comfortable chairs.

Port Reviews

Nuremberg

This was an amazing tour starting with the castle and stadium areas where Hitler brought his supporters and raised importance for him and his cause. Followed by a picture tour with radio guide showing all the horrible things done by Hitler and his followers. Ending with a visit to the German court where Hitler and his followers (if still alive) were prosecuted for their war crimes. Excellently done by Ship guides who had an amazing amount of history at their fingertips- - very dramatic and brought the entire day of touring to a close.
