We were curious about Anthem of the Seas and decided to cruise from Cape Liberty as a convenience of being New Jersey residents. Both embarkation and disembarkation went quite smoothly. We parked in the adjacent parking garage without any difficulty. As you exit the terminal there are payment kiosks at the base of the parking garage, making payment a breeze by cash or credit card. We took advantage of the porter service as well which made baggage handling for a total party of 4 even more convenient during the disembarkation process. Customs went smoothly and CBP officers were very friendly and professional.

The ship is beautiful and extremely clean. We were very satisfied with our balcony cabin. We took advantage of the Royal Caribbean IQ app and bought the ship internet package prior to our trip. We found the dining and customer service experience outstanding. The ports and shore excursions were irrelevant to us, as our primary purpose was the cruise experience and plenty of relaxation. Frankly, we enjoy the freedom of wandering the ship at ports of call when most guests are on shore excursions. The entertainers onboard were all enjoyable. Expect a little bit of a delay from time to time with elevator service. We noticed one elevator not in use at all throughout the duration of the trip and a second that was taken out of service temporarily.

Our trip was to Bermuda and Boston. While docked in Boston, local dignitaries were rededicating the port and terminal and a crew from Masslive.com recorded a tour of the ship http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2017/05/tour_the_anthem_of_the_seas_th.html for a preview! This video gives a great deal of information.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

The only negative was there was only one chair for seating within the cabin. No space for a sofa in this stateroom. However, the chairs on the balcony were comfortable and storage for clothing and personal items was more than sufficient. Close proximity to elevators made up for the seating shortfall in the stateroom itself. Stateroom was very clean and well appointed. Continental breakfast room service is available at no charge. Other room service meal or food requests carry a service charge.
