My wife and I decided to cruise for the experience of cruising. We both have heard a lot about the various cruise lines and the great travels. So, we decided to experience it firsthand. We decided to take a smaller ship on our first cruise to get an overall feel for cruising. Let me tell you that, it was remarkable! The Majesty of The Seas, yes, is an older cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet but still, was a simply amazing sail! The service by the crew was outstanding! Our cabin, #8032, was well kept by our assigned Cabin Attendant Maria Vega. Maria made sure that we had clean linen and laundry (towels, hand towels etc. etc.) on a regular basis. She also made sure we kept an updated schedule of the days activities and entertainment. She went well above and beyond her duties to ensure we were comfortable. Our dining experience was just as amazing. Neftali Bordas and Igusti Putra created a fine dining experience that we will never forget! They were not only fun to interact with, but they were very professional and knowledgeable when it came to fine dining. We must point out that we made reservations for the "Chef's Table" which is a 6 course fine dining experience that everyone must experience at least once in their lives. Well, worth the money and we'd definitely do it again. If you have friends to do this with, it will be best. Also, we enjoyed the entertainment and activities on board. Singer Earl Turner, comedian Rodney Johnson were amazing. The crew put on some great shows as well. There was a 70's, 80's review, that was very enjoyable. Karaoke was outstanding! Royal Caribbean's nightlife was very, very nice. The club scene was fun for everyone. There was the 70's, 80's music! Everyone danced the night away!
We loved our cabin. It was a little small, but seriously, we were never really there. There was the occasional quick shower and changing of clothes, only to rush back up on deck for music trivia, karaoke, lunch. Clean bedding. Clean bathroom. Cabin Attendant, Maria Vega was amazing in her know how. She was attentive and very pleasant.
The Space Shuttle launched the morning of our tour! Amazing! We had no idea that it was launching! Beautiful tour!
We would have preferred to tour the island as a whole. We didn't want the touristy thing. We took two tours. We took a second tour independent of Royal Caribbean and got a chance to see the locals. One of the best fish fry restaurants in all of the Caribbean-The Fish Fry. Got a chance to see everyday life of the locals!
Hot as hell out there riding on a segway! Dodging other tourist, not a great scenic ride. Probably will not recommend, or do it ever again.
