Never having cruised Princess before and with the price being right plus OBC thought I would surprise my wife who had not been to Fiji. Also this itinery had 4 ports that she had never been to.

I was very tentative prior to boarding as reviews had not been good. However, we had a wonderful cruise. Food was great in all eateries. Loved the Ice Cream Parlour which also served Milkshakes. Our cabin was roomy and loved that the bathroom was in the alcove. Our cabin steward was exceptional as were our table stewards in the Donatello Dining room. Yes, the bar service was occasionally slow bout hey, what else did I have to do. We did not book shore tours from the ship due to the cost, but had no problems finding taxis or onshore tours once we disembarked in ports. Weather was good and enjoyed the various pools positioned around the ship. Entertainment was good throughout the cruise. I am not sure what some people expect but hey, we had a wonderful relaxing holiday and would again have no hesitation booking the Golden Princess or another ship within the Princess fleet.

Cabin Review

Interior

Great cabin, Aloha Deck- we sail inside as we are not in our cabins much, other than to sleep , shower and dress. Great to have a fridge for ice and to keep our wine cool. We were able to have atop sheet and blanket rather than a doona. Great shower and amenities.

Port Reviews

Lautoka

Had a great time in Lautoka. We knew what we wanted to do . MUD Bath here we come. Hired a taxi who waited for us to complete everything for FJD120 return Was everything and more that we expected. Negotiated pricings (FJD20pp entry) and finished up with a body massage (FJD30pp)These were at least FJD10 cheaper than their prices. Beautiful day weather wise relaxation. We were first there and had everything to ourselves. By the time we were leaving there were numerous tour busses arriving and large groups in the pools. Great day had

Suva

We joined a tour on the pier considerably cheaper (FJD50pp)to see the city and the rain forests. Great tour and great group of people and driver and tour guide. In the rainforest we walked to the lower pool which had a swing rope and crystal clear water. Was cool but refreshing. Great 4hours. Dropped us in city and we walked back to port and had a fantastic foot massage(FJD20pp)

Dravuni Island

It rained on and off and snorkelling not great but OK. Village was good to walk around and it was a true pacific island feel. There were souvenir stalls and once again could not walk past a 1 hr massage for FJD40.00. Heavenly.

Mystery Island

We took our own snorkelling gear and had a great time snorkelling without too many people. Early tender. My wife negotiated a great deal to go snorkelling on the outer reef with the locals. Hopng to see turtles and sharks. Their price was FJD$30 per person, my wife got it for FJD15 per person (4 of us) without even having to haggle. What a trip, waters fabulously clear, Lots of fish and coloured corals Clams and wait for it some reef sharks. However we did not see any turtles. The samre tour on the ship was approx AUD140. Love my wife to bits. Another great day and tenders were excellent

Noumea

We walked around Noumea as we had been there numerous times. Great Duty free alcohol pricings . AUD15 for a bottle of Johnny walker red 750ml. It was AUD1 to USD1. What a great rate.
