I chose this cruise because I have been on Royal Caribbean serval times in the past and preferred them over the other brands. This was my experience.
First: The fire drill was a joke. The audio coming over the speaker system was horrible. Felt like I was listening to a Charley Brown movie. There was know one in my section of D29 that understood what was being said. We were left to figure it all out by looking at the two workers that modeled the life vest. A better way to explain would be if someone was speaking into a mic but the mic was in there mouth. This poor communication continued throughout the cruse.
Second: My Mini Iron that I always travel with caused my luggage to be held at security. Then when after several hours missing my baggage I called security who stated they may have it. While trying to locate the area of security I was sent to the wrong part of the ship. This all during the first four hours of being onboard. After finding the area they told me I could have my mini iron in the room and they have to hold it until the end of the cruise. When I asked well what happens now because I’m with my wife and children and we have several items that need to be ironed I was told I have to pay Royal Caribbean to press my cloths. That is ridiculous. I was not in my budget to allocate funds for the ship to iron.
The port needs to be made over. Looks old and very run down.
I use to love this port from past experiences but know it just seemed boring. The beach called Paradise beach is where we went. The water looked good until you got in the water and the seashells and rocks made it very uncomfortable.
We didn't do the beach at this port but I wish we did. The Port once you get to it from a smaller completely unsafe boat is really nice. The people are nice and the beach looks awesome.
Almost an excellent rating. The only issue was its the shops are completely over priced and you will be haggled from the locals trying to give you a tour.
