We live in Charleston, SC, so we picked the Ecstasy for the pure convenience of not having to travel to the departure port. We have previously cruised on Princess and Royal Caribbean, so I admit I was a little nervous about trying Carnival.

We had our 25 year old daughter, her fiancee, and 2 friends in our party. We each had an "Interior" room with port holes in the Forward section of the ship. The rooms were adequate. The only real complaint was only having 1 outlet (it was by the vanity) and no hair dryer.

I think if we had done this cruise as just a couple we would have been disappointed. However, with our group of 6, we had a blast. The shore excursions and on board activities were so much fun. The food was good (not excellent) but, the service in the dining room was exceptional. Our servers, Everton and Gerry, were wonderful and we looked forward to seeing them every night.

Porthole

Cabin PT

Clean and fairly comfortable. We liked having the port hold to let in natural light, without having to pay a lot more. The main complaint (mentioned above) is that there was only 1 outlet in the room. Between hair dryers, straighteners, charging phones and Kindles, it was a constant struggle to prioritize who got to use the outlet.

Port Reviews

Nassau

10 Best of Nassau tour was great. Our guide, Julian, was so much fun. We are still talking about him 1 week later.

Charleston

Charleston is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. If at all possible, everyone should take a couple of days before or after the cruise to explore the Lowcountry.
