To start off this was my and my husband first cruise ever! Our experience on the Carnival Splendor was not a very good one! First off we arrive to our room and hours later when we get ready for bed I noticed there was blood stained linen on our soposive king bed ( they pushed 2 beds together to make it a king) I looked in the bed and also noticed short hairs (pubic) in my bed like the linen had not even been changed for the new guest coming in. Also hair in the bathroom on the toilet I contacted guest service to resolve this issue. They tried to buy me off with drink tickets. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. Just about every place you eat has the same food. The water, tea, Lemon aid, hot chocolate and VERY strong coffee are all free, soda packages are sold separate, and alcoholic packages are outragiously priced, but without it you will pay approximately 9.00 per drink.Your room service is free! Everything is charged to your credit card on file so any shopping you do on the boat they will ask for your room key so they will charge your credit card on file. Cash is not excepted anywhere that I had seen, you can use cash in the Casino and any winnings you have will be put on your sign and sail room card.(Make sure you cash out whatever winnings you have at the end of your cruise because they don't mail you a check for any winnings) The money will be donated to St. Jude. Our cruise was at the last 3 days and a sewer pipe or something had broken so we had to smell the stink of bowel movement on our first floor cabin. What they did to fix it was put fans in the hallways with air freshener to cover up the Oder. So many people were complaining about the smell not only on our floor but the other floors as well. Also when I called guest services I don't know if she understood what I was saying but she laughed at me. I thought how disrespectful! I would just like the buyer to beware when purchasing this cruise with the splendor. We work hard for our money to pay for a nice vacation, and this wasn't so nice for us!
