First trip on an MSC ship. Chose the Divina out of Miami on April 1 because of the $400 price.
Arrived in FLL on Jetblue and took an UBER to Brickell in Miami. With a $20 first time user coupon, the UBER cost a total of $4.74. Much better than the $74 estimated taxi. Stayed in an airbnb in the W hotel for under $200.
We arrived to the pier at 11am and only had a small wait until they opened doors. This was absolutely the fastest embarkation we have ever had in over 10 cruises. Once onboard, be prepared for the bombardment of people trying to sell you drink coupons and dinner reservations. I had pre-purchased drink booklets so I proceeded to the casino to pick up the booklets. It would be nice if they had stanchions to form an orderly line as everyone was cutting in front of people who had been quietly waiting for the next employee to get their booklets. Lots of rude people cutting lines everywhere on this cruise. Be prepared.
Average cabin with huge balcony. Highly allergic to something that was in the cabin though.
Love old San Juan. Walk to the forts located in Old San Juan or a short cab to the beaches in Condado.
Stayed in an airbnb in the W hotel in Brickell. Wonderful location on 1 mile from Port of Miami. $8 UBER to the ship.
Maho beach watching the jets take-off and land. $8 cab each way. Strong waves at the beach. If you prefer a quieter day at the beach. Walk to the beach at Phillipsburg.
