Sail Date: Apr 2017
Cabin: Family Balcony Stateroom

First time on Norwegian. Previously sailed Carnival, Royal, and Princess. We chose the Escape because of the perks offered and never have been on such a large ship.

Embarkation and disembarkation went quickly and smoothly. Taxis were always available to and from ship and I think a faster way to leave, as you don't need to wait for a bus to fill up. Same price, too.

It was just my husband and I in a Family Balcony room. This room would be crowded with any additional kids. The balcony was angled, which was nice. We were next to the elevators/stairs which were not noisy at all. Surprised at the size of the bathroom. Shower seemed larger than on other ships. Nice to have a coffeemaker in the room. The cube under the vanity could be used as a table, or take the wood top off and it was a stool for sitting at the vanity. Plenty of space to put clothing, etc. I always bring extra hangers. Room Attendant, Heri, was very friendly and kept our room clean. I have to make a note on other reviews that complain of noise above their rooms - do some pre-planning and check the ship's layout of rooms - and pick rooms that are under other floors of just rooms. Very quiet.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

The cabin was roomy and had adequate space for all clothing, etc. Bring extra hangers. Bathroom was large. Nice to have bathrobes too (on request for balcony and up only). The balcony was large and angled. Would be too crowded for more than two people. Nice to have a coffeemaker.

Port Reviews

Miami

Stayed at Springhill Suites by Marriott by the hospital. Not in a good area, but we arrived late and it was a good enough place to stay for a pre-cruise hotel.

Post-cruise was at Fontainebleau - not by choice. Delta canceled 4,000 flights and we were stranded in Miami for FOUR nights! So this is THE place to stay if you are ever in Miami! Beautiful, but very expensive.

St. Thomas

Walked around town to the shops.

Tortola

Walked to the Joseph Reynold O'Neal Botanic Gardens National Park. Only $3 each! We did not see any other cruise passengers there. Very worth it.

Nassau

Walked around shops and to Junkanoo Beach. Too many vendors in our faces on the way and there. The beach is a little dirty and has some sharp rocks. It was better for us to go back to the ship early and enjoy our free drinks, food and quiet, empty sun decks.
