We went to celebrate my birthday and since we had not cruised Celebrity in a few years we decided to give it a go and booked a Concierge cat. We also liked the idea of overnighting in St Maarten. The weather was windy and rough on the first 2 nights at sea and when we arrived in St Thomas, the weather was not much better. We were booked on a self guided St John tour. This tour should never had left port. It was windy and rough, lots of waves. There was no safety presentation, people were standing as there were not enough seats even though there were signs stating NO STANDING. There was a young couple who were very frightened, especially when we hit a wave head on that was about 8ft high. The ferry was speeding through the waves, lots of bouncing. There were 4 people standing in the front of the ship and were knocked down. There were injuries involved. On the return, we had to wait for another ferry because no one was allowed on the original ferry due to investigation. There was NO representative from the cruise line on the ferry with us. One young woman was in charge at departure and arrival. We asked for a refund and received a approximately 10.00 per person....Not much for a tour that could have been disastrous, the tours to St Johns all should have been cancelled.

St Kitts was our next destination. Not my favorite island, again weather was not cooperative. From here we went to Barbados. We were able to spend a few hours on the beach at The Boatyard, before the weather turned. We took a taxi for 5.00 each and paid 20.00 for a drink, chair, and turtle boat ride. We didn't get to do the boat due to the weather. Our last stop was St Maarten, probably our favorite stop where the ship stayed for the night. We rented a jeep and toured the island on our own. We were able to park at the pier overnight.

We had 2 more days at sea on the return.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

We never received the "gifts" for the room category except for the warm bottle of wine with no glasses or ice. There was 1 hair dryer in desk, no umbrella, no ice bucket, fruit was old/bananas brown, no complimentary bag, cotton balls and swabs, no wine glasses, shoe shine, horrible bath towels, no way were they a 100 present cotton, they were like sandpaper. Save your money and go with a regular Balcony.
