A bad day at sea is better than a good day in the office.

This was our fourth Norwegian cruise and first time on the Getaway. We have been on the Epic (2) and the Escape (1). We enjoy all the activities the big ships have to offer.

Embarkation was somewhat of a mess. We went through security and check in smoothly but it all seemed to fall apart when it was time to board. We were in terminal B where there was no organization. There were several "lines" and when they called groups people were just going there group cards were not even being checked. This of course led to backups on the gangway and they had to keep stopping and trying to "reorganize". Once on board it wasn't long before our rooms were ready,

Food was great especially in specialties. Cagney's is still our favorite with Moderno being a close second. Margaritaville was a great place to have breakfast and lunch (even with the up charge).

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

Our Cabin was located across from a crew area which had either an ice maker or dishwasher which was very loud and bordering on torture at certain times of the day. Also there was some sort of pipe on the balcony which I am assuming was related to plumbing which contributed to the constant sound of running water.

Port Reviews

Miami

We arrived the day before our cruise and spent the night at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. We had dinner and did some exploring at the Bayside Marketplace

Costa Maya

We have been to Costa Maya 3 times and feel as if it is not someplace that we have to see.

Harvest Caye

We never made it to Harvest Caye there was some excuse about the dock being damaged by a storm the night before. I am not sure if I believe it since they have been missing in Harvest Caye pretty regularly.
