I had fairly low expectations for this ship and itinerary, and was pleasantly surprised the whole week! The Liberty is a lovely ship. The Promenade had hot coffee at all hours of the day/night and yummy things to nibble on - even some gluten free goodies. The Windjammer had the best food we've had yet on a Royal Caribbean cruise! Like - inspired, even! We never made it to the dining room. Thai soup one night was as good as any restaurant fare. Our cabin was spotless. I always bring my own pillow and didn't need it this time. Husband is a pillow connoisseur :) and he gave them high marks.

I thought about staying on the boat in Roatan - no excursion sounded very interesting - and found that we had the most amazing day of the cruise in this port. We went to Tabyana Beach and had a kayak guide take us out to the reef drop off. Mind-blowing. Beautiful. Like Walt Disney took acid and created a new shade of blue. Schools of fish surround you. Get out there, watch out for the coral as you float seriously too close to it, take a Go Pro so you will know that you were not dreaming when you get back to shore. And tip the kayak guide, that's what they work for.

We went to Goff's Cay in Belize. Again, so incredibly beautiful. It's a tiny island with a spit of pure white sand and palm trees. The folks on our excursion said the snorkeling was not good and the water was rough. We felt smug since we set up lounge chairs and an umbrella (for a price, of course) on the white sand and relaxed while they fought the waves. The water around the island is amazingly clear, waist-high, and calm. Great for kids. They have bathrooms and junk food there. Looking further out from the shore, the water becomes the amazing Caribbean shades of blue. Hard to believe how pretty it was. Dolphins jumped for us on our boat ride back to port.

Owner's Suite

Cabin OS

Huge room, huge balcony, right next to the elevators and a floor below the pool and food. The bed and pillows were very very good, our attendant was very very good, we had so much storage that I could not fill up the closets and drawers, and had an oversized bath with Jacuzzi tub plus a shower. There was fresh ice in our bucket every day and night, fresh fruit, nightly appetizers; the lounge on Deck 14 for suite guests was a wonderful place to watch the sun set. It offers complimentary cocktails and appetizers, two staffers that I adored and remembered our drink of choice at night, plus a concierge. Worth. Every. Penny.

Port Reviews

Roatan

Get out to the reef! It's beyond amazing, simply the best snorkeling we have ever done, the most fish, the most intense blue water.....

Belize City

The tour operators were warm and friendly, our destination at Goff's Cay was lovely.

Cozumel

We always go to Mr. Sanchos beach club. The food, drink, service are outstanding. We catch a cab from the pier, pay about $20 to get to the beach within 15 minutes.
