Carnival Spirit is a good ship to cruise on. Good public rooms and cabin fine. Kept very clean and tidy, But I made the mistake of choosing a cruse in school holidays - not a cruise for the solo traveler over 60. The food in the Empire dining room was very good but the buffet catered to those who are used to fast food outlets. The entertainment was not of the kind I like but other passengers seemed to enjoy it. The internet could be slow at times. The staff were very courteous and obliging. The shore excursions in new Caledonia were well organised. Aamadee island the best but take your own drinks from the ship as there is only one shop on the island and they charge over $5 per drink and only give change in local currency. Snorkelling was wonderful and the glass bottom boat trip was a real highlight with turtles and schools of coloured fish.
