07-31-09 Non-stop flight on Southwest from Nashville to Seattle. Uneventful flight for myself, my husband and my MIL. Towncar service provided by Already There Towncars, which, by the way was absolutely wonderful! We stayed for one night at The Silver Cloud-Broadway. Very clean, pleasant hotel with free shuttle service to several areas around Seattle including Pike Place market. We had an early dinner/late lunch at the hotel restaurant, Cayenne's. Very tasty! The free breakfast at the hotel was also at Cayenne's. Nice selection of fruit, cereal, breakfast treats....not your run of the mill continental breakfast. Seattle is a beautiful city. My husband and I would like to go back there for a few days just to explore the city and go to Mt. Ranier. 08-01-09 Embarkation day! After breakfast, we packed up and checked out. Our towncar was reserved for 1100 am to take us to Pier 91. The driver, Alex, was from Russia and was absolutely delightful. Embarkation for the Golden Princess went very smoothly. Plenty of people around to help you find your way and answer questions. We were on board in no time and on our way to our cabin to drop off our carry-on luggage. Then it was off to the buffet! I am a somewhat picky eater, but never had any problem finding plenty to choose from anytime I was hungry. The muster drill was quick and efficient and then we were underway! Boy, were we in for a surprise!! When we left Seattle at 1630, it was approx. 80 degrees and sunny. Within 2 hours the temp. dropped to 60 degrees as we sailed into open waters. It remained there, between 50 and 60 degrees until we reached Juneau. The pools are heated though, so many people were swimming or in the whirlpool if they were not roped off. We chose anytime dining and were very happy with it. Prompt seating and service anytime we went to the dining room. The food quality was very good! We originally booked a balcony cabin but were blessed by the upgrade fairy and placed in a mini-suite on the Dolphin level. Lovely cabin with a very spacious balcony. The bed was a little worn so we asked for an eggcrate and slept comfortably throughout the cruise. Overall, the Golden Princess is a beautiful vessel! Very easy to navigate around once your figure out what is where. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The entertainment was good. I would recommend this cruise to anyone and everyone!!

Cabin Review

Cabin AA

D503-close to stairways and elevators. Very quiet. Spacious balcony. You can view everything right from your balcony without needing to go up on deck! Mattress needs replacing soon, but overall great cabin.
