Though I am a Princess girl, I cruised with a friend who is a Carnival fan. She won. The dining room food was excellent, as were the waiters, but the buffet was stingy. The carver meat was always stringy, tough and overcooked. The choices were thin. Throughout the ship, pastries, in fact most baked goods, tasted more like packaged goods. The room was big enough. The bed was narrower than a twin, but extremely comfy. The bedding and pillows, excellent. Lots of storage space. Tacky "couch" was uncomfortable, just a hidden extra bed. Tiny TVs. Entertainment was just OK, though the comedians did a great job, especially considering this was Easter break and they had to play to an audience with both kids and adults. Kids seemed well corralled, so kudos to the kid counselors. Adults had few choices in day activities unless they wanted to go to Carnival infomercials or trivia or gamble. No good lecturers. Our room was not ready when we arrived. I had to ask them to clean the bathroom counter and still had to clean it again myself. Disgusting! Glasses in the room were always nasty. Called for hangars, and the room steward said he was on break and would bring them tomorrow. He also complained about the number of rooms he had to clean. OK...but I still paid full price. I don't want to hear the arguments and complaints. He can take that up with Carnival. The doors to the balconies, public restrooms, and to decks, were really heavy and hard to open. Frequently there were dirty dishes, and food on the floor in elevators, that was still there hours later. I thought this ship traveled rougher than other ships I've been on, and the engine vibration seemed worse. So, I would cruise on this ship again, because I LOVE cruising. But it sure would be far down on my list of choices.
Good storage. Terrible "couch". Great bedding. Narrow beds (less than standard twins.) Door to balcony (really heavy and hard to operate) not patio doors.
It is a beautiful little town. As you go further south in Mexico, restaurant nacho plates get more Mexican authentic, and less as we expect them in the States. Only one white, stringy (not dippable) cheese, no sour cream. We laughed at ourselves and our expectations. We still loved the nachos, but like them better in the US. We went to the beach on our own and rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for a good price. We swam with the locals. It was a great day watching the families.
I was happy to see there were no children selling on the streets in all of the ports. Except for the beautiful arched rocks in the ocean that you see from the ship, Cabo doesn't have a lot we enjoyed. It is not green, it is more desert looking. We wished we had done para-sailing in Cabo, as it was the only port where we saw two people up at a time. All the other ports had para-sailing, but only one person at a time.
