This was our 4th transatlantic cruise, the 3rd one on Princess. It had nice ports, 2 of them we never had visited. 14 night cruise.

Ship was in dry dock 12 days in the Bahamas before we boarded. I read some of the refurbishing details, as they were replacing bedding, carpeting, lido deck eatery and some restaurants. I have been on this ship 3 previous times and actually was able to book a special cabin that we like...different than the regular shaped balcony..I always choose my cabin before making a final decision.

We live in Florida now so driving to Ft. Lauderdale in a rental car was simple...On the way to the pier..I received an email that the ship was being delayed for embarkation and not to arrive until 5 pm.( We were scheduled to board about 1:30 pm) Of course we had no choice since we had to return the car and had a service take us to the port. Fortunately, the ship was there and they did take our luggage. We had to wait inside the terminal for a few hours. Considering what they had to go thru, the employees were very organized. Bottom line was we actually did not sail away until almost 10:30 pm..Dining was more or less...walk in any dining room. Read more
