Stayed in Barcelona for 2 days before joining Cruise at the Atlantis Hotel - Don't!unless you want cheap but not so cheerful very small, we were in a triple room which the advertised as a suite, I don't think so, breakfast was ok but small bar never opened once, ended up more in the Hotel Lleo next door as they had a small roof top pool and were more than welcoming even though they knew we were from next door, but the location is excellent. Got taxi from outside hotel to port, 25 euro, have the name of the port written down as not many of the taxi men can speak or understand English very well. Arrived at ship around 12 noon, bags were taken away by porters as soon as we stepped out of the taxi, we had already our check in done online so it was just a case of find the check in desk for your deck, show your documentation and get your sea pass. Leisurely walk towards the ship via the row of shops to stock up on any last minute things, if you have kids who love their sweets & crisps take them on with you, a bag of m & m sweets(they come in packs of 2)are $4.95 maybe a good thing!

If you have kids the soda package is great. Once onboard, we had a look about and were in our cabin for 1pm, went for lunch in the windjammer and tried to get our bearings, the ship is beautiful if 10years old, she has had a refurb in some places but to me doesn't show her age. The ice show is a must, went to the magic show as well, I think we had a drink in every bar as you have to for research purposes, but we kept going back to the Schooner Bar as the bar staff there Reynaldo and Luis were outstanding. We had our 13 year old son with us and I thought he might struggle to find someone & something to do, I shouldn't have worried he met a great group of lads from different places & we never seen him, he came home raving about the cruise so much that we have just booked the same cruise for next year, I think that says it all. You never need to leave the ship if you don't want to but as this was our first cruise I wanted to get off at every Port just to say I had been there. We picked two of the Cruise Tours Panaramic Rome & Livorno (Pisa) I would recommend these as they are only 4 hrs long if you just want to see the sights. Villefranche is beautiful what a sight to look out from your Balcony. We went to Nice for 1 euro each way, well worth it, next year we will go in the opposite direction and do Monte Carlo. We never got to go to Marseilles as we hit a storm and could not dock so we had an extra day at sea which was very diasppointing and very rough although this isn't the norm by all accounts as some of the staff had said it was the worst they had ever experienced, but it hasn't put us off. Our room attendant Joze was the best ever, he learnt our names very quickly and seemed to appear as we came to our cabin with a good morning or afternoon or evening, he even kept track of our son and would tell us if he had been in the cabin or just left, which we thought was excellent. We didn't use the main dining room at all, we were booked on the 6.30pm sitting which is just too early so always atet in the windjamer which suited my fussy son, although him and his mates sometimes orderd room service. If you don't use the Dining Room you do not have to pay the tips!!!!!! I worked out what we would have paid and split it between our excellent room attendant and our excellent bar staff from the Schooner, why pay for a service you haven't received. Disembarkment was very smooth only down side was the lenght of the queue for the taxis.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Cabin was adquate for the amount of time you spend there, tv needs updating and it would help if it worked and had at least one watchable English Channel. I the cabin has 3 people in it why are there not 3 chairs!!!!!!
