We disembarked from the ship this morning after 13 fantastic nights around the South Pacific.
Embarkation was very slow due to a computer glitch and when we got on board we found out that we had been given the wrong type of room. A disastrous start! We had booked a room big enough for the three of us, including our 6 feet tall teenager son. We were expecting a balcony stateroom with a double bed and a son abed for our son. What we got was a double bed and a bunk bed, suitable for a small child.
We went straight to Guest Services to complain only to be told that the ship was full and all they could offer was to put in a rollaway bed, which was an extremely tight squeeze. Furthermore we were in an adjoining room with a couple in the next room with a small, crying, baby. The adjoining door was paper thin, so we could hear every word...and cry! We were in Room 6608, so beware if you are given that room! We had no choice but to put up with it....until day 6 when we got a call to say that a room had become vacant and it was a Junior Suite situated at the stern. What a contrast that was. Room 1388 is lovely. A room large enough for 2 queen beds and more, with a massive balcony overlooking the wake of the ship. The people at Guest Services were very apologetic and have offered us a 20% discount off our next cruise for our inconvenience. Very well done!
Great Junior Suite at the rear of the ship on deck 10. Large room, big enough for 2 queen size beds with plenty of room to move around. Huge balcony with 2 sun loungers, chairs and two tables with great view.
No noise from the engines or Windjammer Restaurant which is right above it. I would not hesitate to choose this room again.
