We chose this cruise as it visited countries I had not been to like Jordan, Israel and Crete. As we got closer to our sail date, we wondered if there would be itinerary changes due to international politics. We visited all countries on the itinerary with minor time changes for port arrival and departures.
Embarkation was smooth and quick with no problems as was the disembarkation.
While on the Star, we had three different room stewards. We felt he best service and restaurant was O 'Sheehans, and the waiters all understood English. In Versailles and Aqua, many the waiters did not understand English very well and were not able to accommodate any change from the menu, for example we were told they did not have applesauce when we ordered the roast pork or mint jelly when we ordered the leg of lamb.
I had requested a large window when booking our cabin and was told that the room selected had a large window. When we got to our room, it did not have a window, just two narrow, elongated portholes. The room was very dark and we were not pleased. The first night we had one steward but the next day, another steward said he would be cleaning our room. Two days before the end of our cruise, another person said that they would be our room steward. Our room did not get cleaned that night .
All day tour to Abu Dhabi and desert safari dinner. There was a lot of traffic and we arrived very late to desert safari, did not get to do much except have the buffet dinner.
