This was our 2nd cruise on the Solstice, the first being in 2016 and could not fault anything. But what a difference a year makes! The ship is beautiful and elegant and spotlessly clean. Staff amazing and always friendly and helpful, cannot fault them. We felt that Celebrity had lost its edge and certainly cut back on lots of little things. There was very little entertainment during the day, especially 'sea days'. If you were into trivia and buying that would suit you, but all our sea days the sea were rough so confined to inside and nothing to entertain. In all of the 10 days, only one movie was shown. There were shows each evening but three of those were repeats of the previous year and not up to par. Another major issue and also commented by a lot of other passengers, was the lack of seating. With over 2800 passengers it was a real issue. Every day was a fight to find a lounge chair, plenty of open spaces that wasn't being used but could of been full of lounges. Same upstairs in the Ocean View Buffet... lovely set up with good choices but again not enough seating. Also, a change from the previous year, no-one serving coffee at the table, 'helpyourself' was the option. And while sitting having a meal, the constant selling of dining packages. Twice in one sitting was too much, although we had said we had already bought a dining package. There was a lot of selling going on and the day's itinerary was full of shopping ideas but no entertainment. We were also travelling with our daughter and grandchildren and had raved about this ship for over a year and the disappointment... the kid's club was great, couldn't fault that. We love this ship for its elegance but come on Celebrity, give us more chairs and value for money!!
