We had traveled with RCCL in 2004 on the Freedom of the Seas and had a marvelous time. In the 13 years since the ships hav,e gotten bigger (Allure)but not better in my opinion. The RCCL website was a pain to navigate and link reservations, which still were a mess when we boarded causing headache and hassle with the Guest services desk. A $50.00 on board credit for booking the cruise was never applied to our account even after bringing it to the attention of the staff. We were told there was nothing they could do.

Even though we were charged for the 9 guests for the first nite done right dinner they had only reserved two of our party for dinner that evening. They corrected it, but we had to dine an hour later than we requested. The Set Sail party was mediocre at best with very limited staff to serve drinks and the lines at the bar were slowed drastically as there were not enough personnel to keep up with the demand.

Computer glitches caused long lines and delays getting off the boat at Bahamas and St. Thomas. Employees were cutting the passenger line waiting to get off. A casual comment was passed by one of them they deserved to get off first and be kept happy as they took care of us at sea and we would want a happy staff.

Cabin Review

Family Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin FB

The cabin was average for a cruise ship, I was hoping for more given the Allure is one of their bigger and newer ships. The cabin attendant needed to spend a little more time on the finishing touches. We always looked forward to the towel animals they came up with each day, but only got three for a seven day cruise. Also a souvenir glass we purchased with a cocktail went un-touched for two full days until we cleaned it out. On the Disney cruise the attendant cleaned and wrapped it for the travel home.
