This was out 9th Carnival cruise. We left out of Fort Lauderdale Port. The Splendor is one of the smaller ships of the Carnival fleet, but was still clean with things to do onboard. Food was good, really good burrito bar. Our cabin steward, Joey, was friendly and extremely attentive to our cabin. Dining room staff were awesome. We don't drink, but there are plenty of bars on-board. Enjoyable shows with good early comedy shows. We don't go to late comedy shows with swearing so can't write about those.
We went at the wrong time of year. It was spring break for high school students in the US. A lot of teenagers onboard. Music was extremely loud, genre suited the teens, and was not relaxing or enjoyable at all.
***Parents if you travel with your children, no matter how old they are, please ensure your children/teenagers BEHAVE. Being on vacation DOES NOT eliminate the need for children/teenagers from behaving!!!! On 2 occasions my husband and I were playing cards in the main atrium and on both occasions someone spit on us from a couple of decks up. Yup spitting on complete strangers: really good manners...On other occasions a couple of young children were running in the halls and almost knocked over an elderly person on a walker and a disabled person on a walker. If you don't let your kids do things like that at home, instruct them NOT to do it on a cruise ship.***
Cabin was clean and roomy. Cabin steward, Joey, was extremely attentive.
This tour was wonderful! We were with Amber Cove Adventures and saw so much !! Our guide, Milton was awesome ! There were only 4 of us in an air-conditioned van with lots of windows to see the stunning scenery, historic sites, and Dominican Republic life.
