Sail Date: Dec 2016
Cabin: Cove Balcony

Well this was a very interesting cruise. I have sailed in the past on a Disney ship (can't remember the name), the Norwegian Pearl, and the Celebrity Summit. This was my first trip with Carnival and I was a bit concerned with it being a budget line and a party boat. Needless to say I was surprised at how quiet our forward cove balcony was, how wonderful the crew was, and how nicely the ship was appointed. If I was looking for peace and quiet I could always find it.

What I liked

I loved the gym and its nice equipment. I was able to do my first 5K on board and that was with the ship rocking. I loved the piano bar. The duo working there were great fun and I went every night to hear them play. The comedy club was always a blast and for once on a cruise they were actually funny. They had plenty of day time activities for those who don't gamble or drink and it was a lot of fun. Lounging on your balcony was also very relaxing and quiet. The food was very good on board and I did not eat anything I did not like.

Cabin Review

Cove Balcony

Cabin was sparse with wall outlets. It only had one so we had to get a surge protector from the staff. Don't plan on charging anything. Other wise it is the same standard style and layout as every other ship I have been on.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

I love this town and have been here several times. Do yourself a favor and spend a few days enjoying it

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Typical port on the islands. The closest beach is $2 to get in $15 for a locker $12 for a beach chair. So I took one that was not being used, HA!!!. The beach was nice and the swimming was fun. The tourist shops were typical of every other island you go to. Try going off the beaten path... actually this does not exist here. So I let my wife spend my money and went back to the ship to enjoy the waterslides.

Cozumel

Very informative and lots of fun. Of course the main tourist shop sells the good stuff, everything I got from the small side shops for "cheap" fell apart. The taco place there is to die for and very reasonable. The tour takes all day so no chance to explore the town.

Having been to Cozumel before take my advice and head a few blocks inland from the main tourist shops. You find better food at better cost a better prices on the same knock offs they sell in the cruise port.
