We chose this cruise because of the variety of different stops and only one day at sea. The itinerary also included several islands that we had not yet visited. Most of my cruising (14 cruises) has been on Carnival and Norwegian so I was excited to finally try Royal Caribbean. It certainly did not disappoint us. The ship was the perfect size. Not too small but not too large that we experienced lines. The food was by far the best I have had on a cruise ship! Even the breakfast and lunch buffet in the Windjammer was delicious! Additionally, our dining in several of the specialty restaurants was enjoyable and well worth the slight upcharge! Prior to travel, I read LOTS of reviews about the ship. Some were positive and, of course, some were negative. I am hard-pressed to find anything negative about the experience. Once at the Champagne Bar, the male bartender was slightly rude, but we didn't let that tarnish what was a great vacation. Also, the Wines Around the World experience was very disappointing!

Our cabin, 6368, was typical for other cruise lines - not alot of extra room, but we spent little time in there. Bed was slightly hard, but comfortable. If planning on a balcony cabin, I would recommend decks 7 and higher. On deck 6 toward the back of the boat, the balconies had a think metal encasement so the view was somewhat obstructed. Other recommendations include booking your beverage, specialty dining and internet packages a few weeks prior to sailing. In our case, the ship offered 30% discounts, which saved a substantial amount of money. Book your excursion early; they fill up. Also, we were able to embark much earlier than our assigned time. We were assigned 4:30 but we were on board by around 12:00 with very short lines! I highly recommend the Adventure of the Seas!!!! I am a Royal Caribbean fan!!!!!

Cabin D3

Other reviews of this ship noted worn out and shabby furnishings. That was not the case with our cabin. Plenty of storage space. We also were able to slide our large suitcases under the bed.
