Cabin: Balcony Stateroom

We had high hopes for this cruise based upon recommendations from friends, but our experience was far from the excellent service we have received on other cruise lines. The ship is beautiful with a ton of things to do and see. The problem with the cruise started nearly from the moment we entered our stateroom- we were traveling with friends with neighboring staterooms and requested that the balcony divider to be opened and we were told that "coast guard regulation" didn't allow this, however looking to other balconies from ours many other dividers were opened. The room steward did not keep the room very clean and required frequent nudges to get items that should be in the stateroom (i.e. missing coffee cups, room service forms, etc.) and on the last night the room wasn't even cleaned while at dinner (our make up room light was still on when we arrived back). The entire experience was tainted by the extreme number of children on board. While I understand there will be more children onboard during spring break the noise levels in all areas, including dining rooms, was ridiculous. On one occasion we walked out of dinner in the Savor dining room because of the noise level and the presence of uncontrolled children running in circles around our table and climbing in the windows. When we asked the staff to control the children we were told "there is nothing we can do." The quality of the food in the main dining rooms was average and the quality in the specialty dining locations was spectacular. We really enjoyed our experiences in Cagney's, Le Bistro, and Teppenyaki. The bar staff (especially in Skyline bar) were attentive and served very good mixed drinks.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BD

The cabin was unpleasant with an oddly placed bed that was extremely close to the closet instead of being placed on the side of the room closest to the balcony. The shower pressure was good and the restroom was larger than we have had on other cruise lines. The shower drain needed repair twice during the trip for draining slowly. There was A LOT of noise at night from the Garden Café that was directly above our stateroom- we were bombarded with the frequent sound of tables being dragged across the floor for hours while we tried to sleep (we were told the staff had to move the tables to steam clean the floor nightly).
