The Noordam is one of HAL's older, smaller ships. It's in good condition but doesn't sparkle.

The crew is well trained and very nice. But the reasons for taking the Atlantic Coast cruise are the stops. Each one is a gem, even if you just stay in the cities for the day. We loved Montreal, Quebec City, PEI, Nova Scotia, Bal Harbor, Boston, NYC, Charleston and Ft. Lauderdale. There was a terrible storm one night and all I could envision was the life boat drill and having to try reach the life boats if the alarm sounded. ...(The housekeeping staff was available with anti-nausea pills.) But the capable (and charming) captain steadied the ship and we made it through the night. Whew!
