We wanted to see the Panama Canal and Princess was one of the few lines that was suitable for us given our tight calendar limitations. We have taken numerous cruises on all the other major lines, but this was our first on Princess. We booked a suite, as we usually do and frankly were disappointed by the mediocre service. NO separate embarkation line, no concierge, no butler, no dedicated lounge. Our room at the very back of the suite was cramped, with a tiny balcony, no walk in closet and close to the waterline. The vibration from the engines was very noticeable, and disruptive to restful sleep when the ship was at cruising speed. Our stateroom attendant was rarely seen and not very helpful although he did keep the room clean.

The ship has limited specialty restaurants, which is disappointing on a 10 day cruise, although the staff at all the restaurants were truly friendly, helpful, thoroughly professional, and delightful.

The itinerary was OK, but not great. What can one accomplish in 4 hour stop over in Aruba when the ship docks at 7am Sunday morning and the limited shops that open do not do so until 10am at the earliest.

Cabin Review

Premium Suite with Balcony

Cabin S5

See above. Handicapped suitable room with walk in shower (no tub) with cloth curtain.

No walk in closet. Tiny balcony overlooking back of ship; not a wrap-around. Just large enough to accommodate 2 chairs and a table.

The bed is comfortable.

On same deck as specialty restaurants, but the walk to the cabin is through a narrow passageway.
